Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
1. What this policy covers
This page lists everything codebridgelab.com stores in your browser, why, and how to change your mind about it. We use as little as possible: one essential item to remember your cookie choice, and one optional analytics tool that only runs if you say yes.
2. Essential storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
cbl_consent | localStorage | Remembers whether you accepted, rejected or customised cookies, so we don't ask again on every visit | Until you clear your browser storage or change your choice |
This is not a tracking cookie — it doesn't identify you, and it isn't shared with anyone. Because it's required for the site to remember your own preference, it's set as soon as you make any choice in the banner, not gated behind the accept/reject choice itself.
3. Analytics (optional)
If you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which sets its own cookies (typically prefixed _ga) to help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages get read, roughly how people arrive here — in aggregate, not as a way of identifying you personally. These cookies and the GA4 script do not load until you actively consent. Google's standard retention settings apply to this data; you can find Google's current policy in Google's own documentation.
If you reject analytics, or don't make a choice, no GA4 script runs and no analytics cookie is set.
4. How consent works
On your first visit, a banner asks you to Accept all, Reject all, or open Preferences to choose category by category. Nothing beyond essential storage runs until you make a choice, and no box is pre-ticked in Preferences — you opt in to analytics, we don't opt you in for you. Your choice is saved in cbl_consent and applied on every later visit, so you're not asked again unless you clear your browser storage or the policy changes materially.
5. Managing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, which reopens the same preferences dialog.
6. Changes to this policy
If what we store changes — for instance, if we add a new tool — we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
